Graphene oxide nanoparticles and graphite microparticles on seeds germination and growth of Solanum lycopersicum seedlings

Nanotechnology (NT) can modernize agriculture with new tools that allow better nourished and protected crops. Graphene oxide (GO) is a kind of carbon-based nanomaterial unique structural physicochemical properties, which very useful for many agricultural applications. GO, the two-dimensional carbon nanoparticles, have attracted increasing attention in last few years because these contain large amounts functional oxygen groups; therefore, they could be used as fertilizer carrier to slow release rate improve nutrients use efficiency, makes this material suitable developing slow-release fertilizers. In study, application GO nanoparticles (NPs) graphite microparticles were compared potential promoters tomato seed germination seedlings growth. Concentrations 0, 50, 100, 200, 500 mg L–1 applied, using distilled water micro-size controls. treatments improved root growth dose-dependently by vigor showing significant differences (P ≤ 0.05) between antioxidant enzymes activities. When dose 200 GONPs, radicle length was stimulated (31%) control seedlings. The NPs performed than all variables; however, surpassed GONPs.
